Gen 3 Waterproof Motorbike Jacket with armour

The new 3rd generation Tallarook is here! Since being rated as one of the safest textile jackets that Motocap has tested the Tallarook gear has been one of the most requested pieces of gear i've had!

For the 3rd generation of this jacket it builds on the previous version while keeping the classic style

Some of the upgrades include:

- Stronger construction - Reinforced in high wear areas, double stitched and seam sealed.

- Better protection - with a notable mention to elbow armour that has a much bigger coverage around the elbow and runs most of the way down the forearm!

- Better waterproofing

- Improved comfort

- NEW colour and size!

Plus a lot more, see below for full list.

Why is it named Tallarook? Tallarook state forest near Melbourne has been our go-to stomping ground for offroad motorbiking, motorbike camping and exploring! Its where the bulk of the real world testing was done.

I wanted a jacket that would easily fit the role of waterproof motorbike jacket, with all the normal safety features, and all weather campsite jacket. Made from 1000D Cordura, this material is incredibly strong and also waterproof making it a great material for this jacket.

This jacket has heaps of little features, check below for a detailed list.

Now comes in either black or the new Desert Tan colour! Mix and match with the matching Tallarook pants (Sold separately)

Winter Motorcycle Jacket Features:

Protection

- 1000D Cordura used throughout in the construction of the jacket. This material is super tough, abrasion resistant and waterproof! It is also very wind resistant making this jacket nice and warm when done up.

- For the new Gen 3 version all the seams have been strengthened and reinforced over the Gen 2.

- The critical high risk zones (Elbows and shoulders for jackets) have been massively upgraded for abrasion resistance by integrating a layer of waterproof leather.

- Improved removable CE2 rated Shoulder, Back and Elbow impact armour comes as standard, no extra charges here to look after yourself! If you don't like the look of armour in jackets or prefer to ride without they easily come out.

- The elbow has been in improved with a much wider and longer CE2 protector that goes right down the forearm (great peace of mind when riding over big rocky terrain!)

- Full length jacket for better road protection and water protection

- (Tan colour only) Reflectors on front and back for increased visibility at night. The reflectors are made from a tougher material over previous versions.

Comfort/usability

- Improved seam sealed for better waterproofing!

- Zipper attachment to attach to the Gen 2 Tallarook Pants

- Improved and more comfortable neck hole, with added neoprene around the collar. Helps prevent chafing.

- Back ribboning that allows you to stretch out easier and generally improves the comfort.

- Improved, stronger zippers used throughout including a much stronger front zipper with 'rain gutters' to keep the water out.

- Elastic waist inner - This makes a huge difference to retaining heat around your body when its cold. Essentially it is an inner elastic waist band that stops the hot air escaping around the waist. Now with better placement for easier use. (Can be left undone on warmer days for more airflow)

- High zipper goes right the way up to the chin for maximum waterproofing for those long roadtrips in the rain! The front zipper has improved waterproofing with double flaps and a rain gutter running the length of the zipper.

- Removable inner warm and waterproof liner - adapt to the elements. Additional layer of wind and waterproofing. Now with an easier attaching system!

- 4 zipper vents on the underarms, and 3 back zipper vents to allow for more airflow. Back zippers are in a place that isn't restricted by a small backpack.

- Adjustable cuffs and waist for a better fit

- Waist zippers - as this is a longer motorbike jacket (for better water protection) this jacket has waist zippers which can make the waist wider so when you are sitting down it doesn't ride the jacket up

- Heaps of pockets! 6 outer pockets + 2 internal pockets. Now with deeper chest pockets.

- Minimal external branding

Motorcycle Jacket Sizing Guide:

**If you already have a Black Pup Moto leather jacket it should be the same size for these. If the leather jacket is on the tighter size go for the size up on these**

Below is the sizing guide. I've done this a little different to how most sizing guides are done. Instead of giving a sizing like 32, 34, 36, etc I have given the actual size of the jacket so you can pick the one that best suits you.

The main measurement is the chest measurement.

1) You want to take your own chest measurement (under the armpits at the widest part)

2) Then add a minimum of 14-16cm to that measurement then choose from the below table. If you want a more relaxed fit or you typically ride with more layers underneath add another 2-4cm then choose from the below.

The measurements on the website are the actual size of the exterior of the jacket so you need some extra room to move and breath etc and 14cm is about the sweet spot for giving enough space to move but without making it baggy.

If you would like another specific measurement just let me know (eg biceps) and I can measure it for you, no dramas! If you would like help with sizing email or message on Facebook and I can help. I can also potentially get bigger and smaller sizes in if yours isn't here.

If the way I've done this size guide is confusing as hell and I should do it like everyone let me know and I'll do that.

I totally get buying a jacket or glove online can involve a bit of risk when it comes to sizing etc so I am more than happy to do a size swap or return if you want (provided it's still in the same condition it got sent to you in).

Care instructions:

Take out the liner. Liner can be machine washed on cold and gentle cycle.

For main shell hand wash with cold water, avoiding scrubbing on the leather and reflectors. Avoid using detergent etc. Hang to dry. Ideally don't machine wash or machine dry the outer shell.
